Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Pawl Inc. (“Pawl,” “we,” “us”), which runs Nuz at nuz.pet. By using Nuz, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Nuz.
The short version
Nuz is for learning and fun. It is not veterinary advice.
Be kind: no offensive pet names, no breaking things.
Your answers are yours. You let us use them to run and improve Nuz.
Nuz is free and new. Things will change, and sometimes break.
1. Nuz is not veterinary advice
Nuz helps you notice and learn about your dog or cat. Its results, titles, readings and “what’s likely going on” answers are general, and they come from what you tell us. They are not a diagnosis or treatment, and they don’t replace a veterinarian. Nuz doesn’t know how your pet feels.
If your pet’s behavior changes suddenly, if they seem unwell or hurt, or if you’re worried, contact your vet. In an emergency, call an emergency vet right away. Only try a suggestion if it’s safe for your pet. You are responsible for your pet’s care.
2. Who can use Nuz
You must be at least 13 years old. If you’re under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, use Nuz with a parent or guardian’s permission.
3. Your account
You can use most of Nuz without an account. If you sign in with an email link, keep your email secure: anyone who can open your email can open your Nuz account. Tell us at info.shop@nuz.pet if you think someone else is using it.
4. What you put in
You keep ownership of what you enter, such as pet names, answers and feedback. You give Pawl a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, copy, display and use it to run, improve and promote Nuz (for example, showing your pet’s name on the public rankings), and to create de-identified, combined insights. This license ends when you delete your content, except for combined data and copies the law requires us to keep.
Only enter things you have the right to share. Don’t put anyone’s full name, contact details, or anything offensive in a pet name or comment. We may remove anything that breaks these terms.
5. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we can use them without owing you anything.
6. Fair use
Don’t:
- break, overload or probe Nuz’s security, or try to reach data that isn’t meant for you
- scrape, bulk-download or run bots against Nuz without our written permission
- game the rankings or scores
- use Nuz to harass anyone, or to post hateful, sexual or illegal content
- copy, sell or reuse Nuz’s content, art, characters or games, except as these terms allow.
7. Our content
Nuz’s text, quizzes, facts, art, characters, mascot, logo and games belong to Pawl or its licensors and are protected by law. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial use, and share Nuz’s share cards as they are. “Nuz,” “Pawl” and their logos are our trademarks.
8. Nuz is new and will change
Nuz is free and still being built. We may add, change or remove features, reset scores, rankings or progress, or pause Nuz, at any time. Progress saved in your browser can be lost if you clear it or switch devices.
9. Disclaimers
Nuz is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, Pawl disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We work hard to get the facts right, but we don’t promise that any content is complete, current, or right for your pet.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Pawl and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of Nuz, including decisions about your pet’s care. Our total liability for any claim about Nuz is limited to US $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
11. Indemnity
If you break these terms or the law while using Nuz, and someone brings a claim against Pawl because of it, you agree to cover Pawl’s reasonable costs, including legal fees.
12. Ending things
You can stop using Nuz at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections 4 (for combined data), 5, 7 and 9 to 14 still apply after that.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing a claim, email info.shop@nuz.pet and give us 30 days to try to fix it informally. Any dispute that isn’t resolved goes to the state or federal courts located in New York, and you and Pawl agree to their jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll give notice on Nuz, or by email if we have yours. Using Nuz after a change means you accept the new terms.
15. Everything else
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Pawl about Nuz. If part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce something right away, we haven’t given up the right to. You can’t transfer these terms to someone else; we can, for example if Pawl is merged or sold.
